With Christmas just around the corner and thousands of visitors flooding to Australia's favorite tourist destination, Queensland's Gold Coast, as 2008 comes to a close, we figured the timing couldn't be better to start launching the Gold Coast Video website.

Although there's still plenty more video still to be loaded onto the site, Gold Coast Video will eventually be a great resource for visitors to the area, with local insight in the way of our Video Area Guides pointing out great places to visit and things to see and do. Unlike many tourist guides, these won't be influenced by advertising dollars - we'll be focusing on including the many great free activities in the region too.

And as tourists and Gold Coast locals alike would be searching online right now to get ideas of activities to keep their youngsters busy over the Christmas holidays or places to shop and do business, you can imagine how helpful our list of attractions and businesses will be once the site is in full swing.

That's our aim anyway.
